SPORTS, CROWNS ITS 2016 CHAMPION
Company Chairman, Mr. Ronan Harbison (Left), for titled Sponsors, Grandeur Capital Management Group, travelled from Europe to hand over the National Trophy to the 2016 Cue Sports 9 Ball Champion, Mr. Peter Chen (right) held last weekend at the KAM Pek Paradise Casino, Macau, in the 2016 Rocky Lane 9 Ball Cup offering a Players fund of MOP30,000.
Named in honour of the legendary Cue Sportsman, Rocky Lane, the all-time world’s fastest jump potter, undefeated since 2005, The Rocky Lane 9 Ball Cup (RLC) an annual event, formerly in Hong Kong from 2004 to 2013, now fielded its first year in Macau for 2016, a 5 year sponsored tour in Macau until 2020.
After a grueling qualification hurdle starting with a playing field of 32 Macau players, 24 were eliminated, leaving 8 qualifiers. Macau Cue sports got to Crown its 2016 National Champion for the year, Mr. Peter Chen, after a tough final match with his Filipino Opponent, Mr. Amel T. Mayomis. Chen defeated Mayomis with a landslide victory of 5/9 to Chen. Not only did Chen receive a cash prize of MOP10,000, and a special sponsorship grant from the World Sports Foundation, but his name was engraved in the Legendary RLC Trophy as the 2016 champion, on public display at the KAM Pek Paradise Casino Bar for public viewing. “All opponents played well, and im deeply honored to be the lucky one to get my name on this Legendary National Cup. But I plan to be back next year, to defend my RLC title. I pay a special tribute to my Coach back in Taiwan and of Course Macau Cue Sports Head, Mr. Philip Lam, commonly known in Macau as ‘The Billiard Professor’ ..” said Chen.
